Upfitter – Oklahoma City

Stolz Telecom LLC, a growing company providing mission-critical communication applications, has an opportunity available for a Vehicle Upfitter, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment. This is a temporary (full time) position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

General Purpose of the Position:

• Responsible for installation and maintenance of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently provide customers with excellent service. These responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Confer with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions,

Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills and routers,

Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections and testing instruments such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters,

Install equipment and accessories such as emergency lighting, electronic surveillance equipment, communication equipment, and storage systems,

Diagnose or repair problems with electronic equipment, such as emergency lighting, electronic surveillance equipment, communication equipment, and storage systems, in motor vehicles,

Replace and clean electrical or electronic components,

Run new speaker and electrical cables,

Splice wires with knives or cutting pliers, and solder connections to fixtures and equipment,

Estimate costs of repairs based on parts and labor charges,

Record results of diagnostic tests,

Remove seats, carpeting, and interiors of doors; and reinstall interior parts,

• Perform all job functions in a safe manner.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and experience with 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a vehicle maintenance environment.

• Installation of Public Safety Communications Products preferred and a history of Installation of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment is highly beneficial.

• Work independently in a fast-paced unstructured environment with little supervision.

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey information clearly and accurately.

• Efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software (MS Word, Excel, and Access)

*EVT Certification is a plus*

Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be located near Oklahoma City. Please note there is no relocation budget for this position.
